What is Spot On PR?
Spot On PR is a Dubai-based digital communications agency which focuses on the Middle East and North Africa. We’re also the Middle East network partner of Brodeur Partners. We’ve been working with Internet technologies for the past 20 years and these days we’re focused on helping clients use digital platforms effectively including social networks such as Twitter. Spot On joined Twitter in 2008.
How can I find out more about Twitter in the Middle East?
The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is short on online research and Twitter statistics in particular. Spot On PR has launched a number of initiatives over the years to provide marketing and communications professionals with more research data and insight on the region. In 2011, the Dubai School of Government began including Twitter statistics in its Arab Social Media Report. Since then many others have begun producing research on Twitter and other social media. Here are links to some of the reports:

Okay, but who is @spotonpr?
We started experimenting with Twitter in 2008 and were looking for ways to make it practical. It turned out that we found everyone in the agency had interests on Twitter and things to say, but these weren’t exactly the same as what we needed for the company. So, @spotonpr is a company Twitter account. Most of the time these days it’s operated by Spot On’s managing director @CarringtonMalin. However, it is a Twitter account that we share and so anyone is liable to log-in and start tweeting!
Who do we follow?
Well, honestly, anyone and everyone that interests us, but we’ll try to narrow it down a bit! We are mainly interested in following digital marketing, communications, PR, and Internet professionals, journalists, bloggers and other people that share our interest in digital communications, media, marketing, journalism, press freedom and social media. We’re also quite proud of the fact that over 60% of our Twitter followers are from the Middle East and North Africa region.
What does @spotonpr tweet about?
In short, mostly about media, marketing, technology and arts in the Arab world including news about media, journalism, PR, advertising, marketing, social media mobile, Internet, start-ups, art, culture and film. Our business is quite focused on the Arab world and so are interests are skewed that way. We’re generally interested in what marketing and media people are doing around the Middle East and so are many of our followers, so we share news, information and tips.
Is Spot On PR on other social media?
Yes! We are active across many social media and are always on the lookout for new social media tools and platforms. You can find our main social media profile links listed in the sidebar of this page. If you’re a Facebook user, you are welcome to join Spot On PR’s Facebook page to find out more about the agency’s news, staff, opinions and other inside info!
